Do you do white fillings?

Yes, we do white fillings. In fact I do only white fillings. I disposed of all my amalgam and amalgam instruments in 1995, so I could not do an amalgam filling for you today even if you requested it!

Do you remove old amalgam fillings?

Yes we certainly remove old amalgam fillings. We will even use the holistic protocol (including rubber dam) if you specifically request it.

Do you accept emergency patients?

Yes! Especially patients with damaged front teeth and children. We always endeavour to accommodate patients who are in pain on the day that they call. However, sometimes the first available appointment may not be until the following day.

Do you do teeth whitening?

Yes we do! However, we only feel comfortable providing the "take home technique".

Do you extract wisdom teeth?

Wisdom teeth removal can be a very complicated procedure. Special skills are required to ensure that the procedure is safe and as comfortable as possible. For this reason we nearly always refer to a specialist for wisdom teeth extractions

Do you have HICAPS and what will my health fund cover?

Yes we have HICAPS which allows us to process your claim instantly. You will then only need to pay the gap. We are unable to tell you what your fund will cover as every fund and membership package is different. We can however provide you with item numbers so that you can contact your fund directly before your appointment to see what the gap payment will be.

Do you offer accounts?

As a general rule we require payment at the time of your appointment. If you require major dental work and would like to discuss a payment plan we can provide some different options for you. Please contact us before your appointment to discuss this further.

How much will my appointment cost?

Estimates for dental procedures normally require an oral examination as every patient presents with different dental concerns. We are able to provide a range of costs for you over the phone, but your dentist will be able to quote for you at the time of your appointment, once they have performed their initial examination.

Do you accept new patients?

Yes of course! We are always happy to welcome new patients to our practice.

Is dentistry covered by Medicare?

As a general rule no. There is a Medicare scheme for certain patients that have been identified as needing assistance by their GP. Currently there is also a Teen Dental Scheme where the government has sent vouchers out to parents to cover their teenager's check-up. For the rest of the population however there are no other Medicare benefits. Please contact us or Medicare if you have any more questions regarding this.
